books

books!! i love books i thinK!!

don't expect anything groundbreaking HAHA i have trouble focusing and i don't take notes (yet!!) so my analysis isn't really. there at all.. HAHA

i'll fix it someday i promise

currently, my favorites are any of the arthur conan doyle sherlock holmes books.he's just such a silly little guy!! doing silly little guy things!! i find his character interesting and uhhh i think they're fun and i'm having fun reading them :)

i mostly read classic books just because they're easier for me to find around here and i'm too lazy to find y/a books i actually like..

another favorite is jane eyre by charlotte bronte (wow really obscure, great job lynn.) i liked the development of jane's character and i found the plot interesting. i found jane really relatable in her anger towards other people but at the same time being frequently too timid to express it i think? i don't remember it super well (fuck i should take notes)

i'm not good at mysteries, i'm terrible at solving things and noticing things and using logic, but the mysterious affair at styles was really good!! i felt like i could never see what was going to happen. it's probably because she's a writer i've only read two or three books from but i always felt like i could be suspicious of every character? like i felt like i never knew who the murderer was, even though she's actually known for using character tropes very frequently lol. maybe it's because i'm so bad at mysteries? but i read it right after i finished sherlock so it was a nice breath of fresh air for someone who really enjoys mysteries

i also enjoy emma by jane austen. it was one of my favorite books of hers! i liked watching the characters together and i kind of related to emma lol. i'm not very smart but i tend to overestimate myself and i liked how emma was frequently very flawed! another book of hers i recently read was mansfield park which was SO stressful HAHA. fanny is just so kind and well-meaning and patient and everyone around her just doesn't. notice?? and then miss crawford UGH. i love the way austen writes characters, she's so smart. they all make sense and i just really admire it HAHA.
